Day of Silence Recap: Savenetradio.org estimates that June 26th's Day of Silence action generated over 350,000 phone calls to members of the House and Senate. However, as reported in a Businessweek article entitled Webcasters' Plea Falls on Deaf Ears, House Small Business Committee Chairwoman Nydia Velazquez (D, N.Y.) has stated "I really don't think Congress would be the best type of vehicle to resolve this type of issue." KPFA is looking for listeners who would like to work on KPFA's Program Council. The Program Council assists KPFA management in evaluating programming and determining programming direction. KPFA is looking for a diverse range of applicants, particularly those who have not recently served on the committee. The Program Council meets the first and third Tuesday of every month at KPFA from 6:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Terms last for one year.
